New Zealand's longitudinal spread, climatic variances, and a pure natural water supply, combine to produce a range of world class wines.
New Zealand Fine Wine Exports has identified some of New Zealand's finest quality wineries, paying particular attention to their consistency of vintages and ability to produce that 'special' experience from the bottle. New Zealand is now renowned for it's production of quality white wines including Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Riesling and Sauvignon Semillon. Equally as successful on the global scene is the New Zealand Pinot Noir which is regarded as the best available throughout the world.
The warmer NZ regions typically yield full to medium bodied wines with round, rich flavours, whilst the cooler South Island regions tend to produce medium to light bodied styles with greater acidity and fresh citrus flavours. Pinot Noir, New Zealand’s premium red variety shows the fine tannins and elegance of good Burgundy with the added excitement of vibrant, intense fruit and secondary herbal, spice and game characters.
